Joe has been collecting Railwayana for nearly 40 years specialising in signalling related items. He spent 7 years as a Signalman with British Railways working traditional manual lever signal boxes before moving on to modern power boxes.

As a fully qualified engineer and a specialist in building and restoring all steam related railwayana and engines Joe is extremely passionate and always ensures top quality advice and restoration work on all our products.

BR (E) ENAMEL PRIVATE" DOOR PLATE. STOCK CODE VT 0520

This door plate is in good condition with deep strong colour and  great shine, Some minor chipping but does not detract from its appearance. Non flanged.

ENAMEL "OCEAN INSURANCE" LIGHTHOUSE ADVERTISING SIGN. STOCK PR 192192

Of all the 1000s of enamel advertising signs ive seen this is the first example featuring a lighthouse. This sign is in great condition and has a good colour and shine, the picture hardly does justice to the  nice blue enamel background. In original condition with no repainrs or touch-ups.

Here we have this splendid collection of many hours of works  aquiring all the different timetales from all over Britian. Many in folded booklet form and some in single card form. There are 500 plus items and all in excellent condition.

GWR CAST IRON SIGNAL BOX DOOR NOTICE. STOCK CODE VT 0573

 These cast iron doors plates are always in demand as they are perfect for the collectors railway room or den! This example is in original un damaged condition. 

LNER ,GNR PATTERN BRASS CASED SIGNAL REPEATER. STOCK CODE VT 0579

The rare brass cased repeaters are probably the most ornate of all the companies with the "finialed chromed signal post" and bell  edged case. This example is in perfect ex box condition and in full working order. Nicely marked  with LNER and mounted on a hardwood back.

GWR TYERS WOOD CASE "DISTANT" SIGNAL REPEATER. STOCK CODE VT0538

These handsome wood cased repeaters were made be Tyers and Co excluslvely for the Great Western Railway, many were produced without the finials on top of the miniature signal post so these are more sought after by collectors. This instrument is in great ex signalbox condition and is in working order.

GWR WOOD CASED HOME SIGNAL REPEATER, STOCK CODE VT 0514

These  small wood cased instruments would be connected to the signa detector box mounted on the signal post and operated by the signal arm and would show the actual position of the signal arm at the lineside, ON ,OFF or WRONG.  The instrument has its brass signal number plate attached "4".This instrument is in full working order and is in great condition.

BR (W) ENAMEL TOTEM "NEWTON ABBOT". STOCK CODE VT 0358

Here we have this absoutley stunning fully flanged totem "NEWTON ABBOT" from this famous west country main line station.

This is one of the best examples  with a great colour and shine and not fading or major touch-ups.

MIDLAND RAILWAY SMALL PATTERN 2 ASPECT HANDLAMP. STOCK CODE VT 0404

This fine example of the small type hand lamp is in great condition having been restored in our workshops.

The lamp is complete and the outer case is stamped M.R co.

GWR 1947 PATTERN BLOCK INDICATOR. STOCK CODE VT 0317

A GWR 1947 pattern double line block indicator,

These iconic instrument replaced the earlier "Spagnoletti" flag type block.

This example is intact and in ex signal box condition with usual service wear and in full working order.

The sign measures 36" X 36" and is fully flanged. The sign has been touched up in places and has some distortion but easily screws flat when displayed.

BR (M) ENAMEL TOTEM "KINGSBURY". STOCK CODE VT 0450

Kingsbury station was opened in 1839 with the building of the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway. 

The line  diverged to  Water Orton and Whitacre Junction in Warwickshire. 

This is a really nice name as any totem with the word "King" is  popular.

The totem is fully flanged in great condition with strong colour and shine, a small ammount of touching-in but good match.

LMS JUBILEE REPLICA NAMEPLATE "COMET". STOCK CODE PR 102198

A beautifully made full sized replica nameplate looks as good as the original carried on ex LMS Jubilee locomotive No5735 and is  from cast brass as per the original. this plate has been profesionally cast ,polished and painted, It is drilled ready for fixing to the wall in your railway room.

McKENSIE & HOLLAND SIGNAL FINIAL. STOCK CODE VT 0360

This Great Norther Railway signal finial was produced by the famous signalling contractors McKensie & Holland or Worcester. This is an excellent restored condition and stands over 4 feet tall, complete with its removable zinc spike.. The base has M & H W cast on two sides.

B R "DOUBLE ARROWS! FROM CLASS 47 LOCOMOTIVE. STOCK CODE VT 00561

Here we have a large cast Alluminium  "double arrows" from class 47 deisel locomotive number 47770. This item is in ex  loco condition and comes complete with a  official certificate if authenticity from RES ( rail express systems) which is signed by Managing Director, Charles Belcher.

CLASS 47 DIESEL AIR HORN. STOCK CODE VT 0560

A ex loco condition air horn from the British iconic class 47 locos. This one came from 47524 which was introduced on 23rd December 1966 as D1107. This locomotive was built at Crewe and is now in preservation. The horn was removed prior to preservation and is intotally ex locomotive condition as pictures show. 

BR W ENAMEL TOTEM "INSTOW" STOCK CODE VT 0399

Origionally built and opened by the London and South Western Railway in the 1860s Instow station was about the halfway point between Barnstaple and Torrington. The station was absorbed into the Southern Railway and in the 1960s  transferred to British Railways Western Region. This is why this totem is chocolate and cream colours. This totem is a half flanged totem and has had some damage in the past. A crease down the left hand side has received a repair and a few chips have been touched in, otherwise a nice presentable totem from this the now "Tarka trail".

GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY SIGNAL BOX FOOT PLUNGER

A sturdy Great Northern Railway floor mounted signal foot plunger.

This device would be mounted near the sweeps of the lever frame in front of the lever which it locked.

When the signalman need to operate the lever he would put his foot on and depress the brass button. this would operate the electro-mechanicial lock on the downstairs on the lever frame.

This example is in fantastic condition and has many more years life left in it.

Here we have this locomotive Emginmans  "Grimsby" tool box/. Many drivers and fireman owned boxes like this and kept gauge glases and rubbers, spanners, other items. The compartment in the lid  was used to store sandwiches . This box comes with  4 gauge  glassr, and 8  rubbers. A brass plate is fixed with the drivers name "W..L.Rees" The  box is in ex railway service condition and is corrosion free,

GWR STEAM LOCOMOTIVE PRESSURE GAUGE. STOCK CODE VT 0523

A large brass cased pressure gauge from GWR 4-6-0 CORFE CASTLE,  This gauge is in creat condition and although not tested we did removed the back  cover and check everything is in order. Code be re-calibrated and used on a preserved locomotive ! The dial is 7 1/4" diameter plus the outer flanfe which makes 8 1/2".  The brass case is stamped GWR and the numbers 9  5034.

B R (E) REGION LOCOMOTIVE HEADLAMP. STOCK CODE VT 0518

Well these locomotive headlamps don`t come any better than this, totally ex-loco in original paint like it came of the loco yesterday! Complete with burner vessel and fully operational red lens which operates via a small lever on the outside, This would be used when the locomotive was reunnind backwards and it would work as a tail lamp.

BRYMBO MIDDLE CROSSING SIGNAL BOX NAMEPLATE. STOCK CODE VT 009191

Here we have the nampeplate from Brymbo Middle Crossing Signal Box. Brymbo middle was located on the Wrexham and Minera Railway in the village of Brymbo. The line opened in November in 1847.On 22 May 1862 a line was opened from Croes Newdd to the original route at Brymbo. Brymbo Middle box closed on 1st October 1982.

This nameplate measure 9" deep by 9` 2" long. Collection only on this item  due to weight.

GWR LINESIDE MILE POST TOP 64. STOCK CODE PR 03191

Here we have an ex GWR wooden mile post top, this one 64 meaning 64 miles from london so some detective work should reveal some locations where its from. The wood in in great condition with no rot, woodworm or wood filler! The numerals are made from cast iron and painted with is original. These are usually mounted on a peice of bridge rail.

R S Co FACING POINT LOCK ASSEMBLY. STOCK CODE PR 22192

A railway Signal Company cast iron facing point lock assembly which is in fantastic condition and has very little wear. This is a very heavy item so can be delivered but will go on a pallet which will cost 75.00/

This track relay came from a retired lineman who said to me that they are in working order,  However I am unable to test so are selling them as un-tested.

This Southern Railway split cased block bell was manufactured ny W.R.Sykes. 

This example in in good ex signalbox condition with usual service wear. Tested and working and complete with makers label.

GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY BLOCK INDICATOR . STOCK CODE VT 0352

Here we have this lovely Great Northern Railway double line block indicator.

This is a nice clean example of this classic design, all  the contacts are in good order and the coils have been tested on 6 volts. 

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY BLOCK BELL. STOCK CODE VT 0276

A GWR brass turned bell stemmed block bell. beautifully cut dovetail joints and French polished surface excellent.

This item is intact and has been tested on 12 volts and works well. 

CAST IRON FINIAL

Here we have this fine looking cast iron finial in a fantastic as removed patina.

I am not sure what this has come from but is most likely a Tram, street lighting or telegraph pole.

The base spigot will slide into a 5" nominal bore tube.

LUKENHIEMER DISPLACEMENT STEAM CYLINDER OILER. STOCK CODE PR 045

This old Lukenhiemer steam cylinder displacement oil can be used on a number of steam engines from portables to rollers.

This item is complete except the two small cicular glass windows, probable available from boiler house supplies.

The overall height is 10" including the adaptor at the base, the diameter is 2 1/8" diameter.

G.W.R. THOMPSON "FLAT DOME" BLOCK BELL , STOCK CODE PR 048

Here we have this GWR block bell made for them by R.E.Thompson.

This example is a early example made at their Teddington works and has dove tailed joints throughout and dark wood finish French polishing.

This instrument is in A1 condition and is in full working order.

GWR TYERS BRASS CASED SIGNAL ARM REPEATER. STOCK CODE VT 0034

Nice little GWR Tyers signal arm repeater mounted in a nice heavry brass case.  These instruments were mounted on the block shelf above the lever frame and indicated to the signalman the position of the signal arm. This instrument is in full working order.

BR M "CYCLES STORED AT OWN RISK" ENAMEL SIGN. STOCK CODE VT 0319

A nice small BR M maroon enamel sign measuring  12" X 18" and full;y flangecd.

This sign has had some touching in with paint but looks very presentable. Great colour and shine.

BRITISH RAILWAYS WESTERN REGION ROUND POST FINIAL. STOCK CODE PR054

A GWR cast iron round post signal finial from a stop (home) signal.

The base will fit a 5 1/2" outside diameter post. This is i nice early example with GWR cast in. Makes a great garden feature or  gate post top.

GWR SPLIT CASE "COW TYPE" BLOCK BELL. STOCK CODE. PR0056

There dont come any more origional than this, a superb early example of a GWR manufactured block bell.

Featuring a nice brass stem for supporting the bell and split cased top retaining button screws.

The instrument is in great working condition with the usual service wear. 

TYERS PERMISSIVE RECEIVING BLOCK INDICATOR. STOCK CODE NB0702

A very clean tyers permissive non-pegging instrument. This example is in perfect condition and everything working. The case work french polishing has a lovely patina as does the interior. Complete with original UP LINE brass plate.

GWR 1947 PATTERN PERMISSIVE BLOCK INDICATOR. STOCK CODE VT 0382

Here we have a GWR BR WR 1947 pattern Permissive block indicator. Used on goods loops where up to 6 trains could be "stacked" one behind the other allowing fast passenger trains to pass.

The instrument is in very good ex box condition and in working order.

GWR DOUBLE SPAGNOLETTI INSTRUMENT. STOCK CODE VT XXXX

A nice example of a classic GWR Spagnoletti block indicator.

This one has had the modification carried out at Reading signal works where the extra contacts have been added on the rear. This allowed for more electricial interlocking to make the railways safer.

This instrument is in full working order .

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY SINGLE SPAGNOLETTI "PEGGING" BLOCK INDICATOR VT0214

This is one of a matched pair of GWR SPAGNOLETTI single deck block instruments.

This example is the "pegging" block or sending instrument.

This instrument would be at the box in advance controlling entrance to the "block section". The signalman would depress the "line clear" key or the "train on line" key as necessary.

This example has retained all its charm and patina including all its original fittings.

We have the pair to this and a suitable period split cased block bell to make up the compliment. Tested and working order.

LMS 8F LOCOMOTIVE "UNION" LINK FROM 48468. STOCK CODE PR 22191

Here we have a Union link from the right hand side of LMS built 8F steam locomotive No 48468 which was at Swindon works and entered service 16 March 1945 where she was shedded at locations like Shrewsbury.Stourbridge Junction, Rose Grove and even Bath Green Park on the Somerset & Dorset Railway.

She was withdrawn in March 1968 and later scrapped.

This item has been cut through with the cutters gas axe and has sadly chopped of the No 8,

We know it was an 8 because we has the left hand side also which had the 8 and the item came from the same collector who aquired them together. 

GWR WOOD POST SIGNAL "BLINKER" STOCK CODE PR 22196

Here we have an early corrugated steel and cast iron  tell tale lamp blinker from a wood post signal.

This item is in great shape for something that may be 100 years old.

BR WR TUBULAR POST SPINDLE BRACKET AND SPINDLE G172 C. STOCK CODE PR 22193

A used  BR WR  spindle bracket  complete with spindle for standard cast iron signal spectacle of center balance arm assembly. This item is in good ex sognal condition and will wand cleaning and repainting. A heavy item so post with be via a pallet company at £45.00.

G.W.R BRASS SIGNAL LEVER PLATE. STOCK CODE VT 0400

GWR signal lever plate, this example worked a stop signal (home). This is an early example from around 1917, the earlier plates like this had a longer unline beneath the number. excellent condition with no loss of black infill. Overall dimensiions are  ...4 " X  1 9/16"

ALLOY KEY TOKEN. STOCK CODE PR503

This Alloy key token replace the same section in 1951 when the Webb Thompson train staff was remove and replaced with tyers N0 6 instruments,

This was the long section when Severn Beach box was switched out.

R.E.THOMPSON "LIGHT REPEATER" STOCK CODE VT 0446

This compact handsome combined repeater incorporates a relay, and switch and an electric bell which rings if the light fails,

A bell would ring and the signalman would switch the bell off and arrange for someone to check out and repair the light.

This instrument is in fantastic  shape and working order.

ALLOY KEY TOKEN " SHEPHERDS-PERRANPORTH. STOCK CODE VT 0445

A nice Cornish key token from the line near Chacewater 6 miles west of Truro. This token is in good condition but like all tokens was sawn off by the signal dept prior to sale. Fortunatley the sawn off end was retained and at some stage sone one has refitted it, not too bad a job but if you want it proffesionally re-ended we can undertake this job.

MIDLAND RAILWAY SPLIT CASED BLOCK BELL. STOCK CODE VT 0275

Not seen one of the tapper block bell for many years. This is a "split" case bell meaning that the llineman  could remove the 2 brass screws from the top of the cabinet and remove the front peice which slides out. This was to enable inspection of the instrument without removing thecase top and bell, thus not interferring with the signalmans work. In practice this proved non effective and most instruments were converted at the signal works when next in for repair. This example has all its original parts intact. 

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY SPAGNOLETTI BLOCK INDICATOR STOCK CODE PRNBLH 01

A GWR 1947 block indicator which was introduced to replace the standard GWR Spagnolliti  double and single instruments.

This example is from the set of 4 we have from  Lawrence Hill signal box in Bristol. This instrument along with the  other 3 were removed in 1968 and replaced with GWR 1947 pattern blocks.

This case is in excellent clean condition as is the interior, no discolouration or flaking paint.

The needles swing freely and operate well on 3 volts current.

G.W.R. SIGNAL LEVER DESCRIPTION BRASS LABLE PLATE. STOCK PROO40

This is rare survivor from the early GWR stud and double twist frame days.

These frames had centers of 5 1/4" between each lever with a wooden label board running the length of the frame supported on short ornate cast iron pillars.

To these boards were screwed a length of brass about 6 to 8 feet in length which was beautifully hand engraved all the information about the levers function. 

Numbers of the levers were on plates affixed to the levers.

When they developed the 4" center frames it was too difficult for the signalman to see the backplates clearly so this system was abandoned

This plate is from a box on the famous route over Shap in Westmoorland on the fromer LNWR main line. This plate is en excellent Ex box condition and is ready to join your collection. It measures 5 1/2" X 3 3/4".

GWR STEEL KEY TOKEN "RHYDYCAR JUNCTION-ABERCANAID. STOCK CODE VT 0389

Here we have a nice early GWR steel "C" pattern single line key token from the Merthyr Tydfil -Brecon line.

This example has an engraved plate riveted to the key bearing the controlling signalboxes at each end of the single line.

This item is in excellent condition with service wear.

SOUTH AFRICA RAILWAYS CAP BADGE AND BUTTONS. GD532.

South Africa Railways cap badge and buttons. This white metal cap badge and large, medium and small buttons are in used for purpose condition. The fixings are complete on rear.

GWR "SPLIT CASED" BLOCK BELL FROM CHIPPENHAM EAST BOX. STOCK CODE PR 201912

To the experienced block bell collector these split cased bells are always a delight to see and this ones no exception. This bell was removed from Chippenham East signal box on closure by the signalman. This bell has all its brass fittings complete and is in full working order complete with its great sounding "flat" dome bell.;

R.E.THOMPSON"FLAT DOME" BLOCK BELL. STOCK CODE PR 15191

These light cased block bell were the final design in the Thompson block bell design.

Block indicator were produced in this very like wood to match.

This example is in excellent condition and in full working order,

This flat dome bell has a very destinctive "pang" sound and is one of my personal favourites.

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY WOOD CASED SIGNAL REPEATER STOCK CODE VT0204

Here we have this fantastic GWR built wood cased signal "flag" type repeater.

These instruments were fitted on the block shelf to indicate to the signalman the position of the corresponding signal.

This instrument is in fantastic condition and has been tested on 3 volts and the flag swings freely.

This example has a battery on /off switch and an "Ivorine" number plate "38".

This highly ornate signal finial was typical of the Victorian engineers and craftsman to produce some which was robust , practical and aesthetically pleasing.

The company of McMcKenzie and Holland were one of the large signalling manufactures based at Worcester. Railways they supplied included some of the welsh narrow gauge lines and the Great Northern Railway.

This example is in fantastic condition and has an origional zinc spike , thre spike is removable for transport.

This stopwatch came from and ex signal and telegraph inspector, probably used for timing out jobs, very reliable as Ive tested it !

This distant signal bacolite repeater is in excellent condition and has been electrically tested on 6 volts and works very well, It would actually operate on 3 volts !

L.M.S, FOWLER 3F 0-6-0 LOCOMOTIVE WHISTLE. STOCK CODE VT 0307

Here we have a brass whistle of the well known little workhorse of the LMS, This whistle is from a Fowler designed 3F 0-6-0 tank locomotive.

The whistle overall height is 15 inches and the whistle bell is just unde 4 inches in diameter.

The whistle is in ex locomotive condition with scale from the steam still present!!!

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY CAST KEY TOKEN INSTRUMENT BRASS LABEL "546"

A unusual item here, a brass identification plate from a G.W.R single line key token instrument number 546.

The plate measures 2 1/8" X 1"  5.5 CM X 2.5 CM.  

The plate has  2X 5/32" diameter holes 1 1/4" centers.

RANSOMES & RAPIER 1919 STEAM CRANE MAKERS PLATE. STOCK CODE VT 0342

This large cast iron makers plate is from  either a 36 ton or 45 ton steam crane. from a 36 ton or 46 ton . This is a heavy cast iron sign so needs to be collected or we can bring to  one of the railwayana auctions if it helps. This example is totally ex crane condition and dated 1919. DRIVERS OILING ROUND FEEDER BY "KAYS", STOCK CODE PR06192

This large oil feeder manufactured by "Kays" would have been a drivers most important and cherished item of tooling. This example is clearly stamped "GWR" and has a great patina.

The feeder has sustained a dent at some stage of its working life but this does not detract from is appearance.

The internal valve works fine and the filler plug is present.

This is the largrest of oil feeders at approx 2 feet long and holding capacity of 1 -2 pints.

HIGHLAND RAILWAY BRASS CARRIAGE HANDLE. STOCK CODE PR 601

Here we have this solid cast brass handle from a Highland railway 6 wheeled carriage. The picture is of a similar example to the type of coache this was fitted to.

GWR "KING" CLASS LOCO DRIVERS FLIP-UP SEAT. STOCK CODE VT 0XXX

Heres a chance to own a really great peice of locomotive equipment, the drivers flip-up seat from a King class locomotive. This item was removed by its previous owner from the loco at scrap yard but sadly number not recorded. The seat is in fantastic condition being made from hard oak and steel, It comes complete with the 2 cast brackets which bolt to the cab.

BR WR SIGNAL BOX DIAGRAM "PEMBREY" STOCK CODE VT 0355

Here we have the last diagram from Pembrey signal box on the line from Swansea heading west. The diagram has had many alterations over the years as the layout was rationalized. The diagram is in good condition and the colours bright.

EX GWR SWINDON WORKS STEAM HAMMERS "F" SHOP PRESSURE GAUGE. STOCK CODE PR 04199

A rare oppertuinity to own an item from  the former Great Western Railways  Swindon works. Revoved from the main steam delivery pipe high up in the Steam Forge hammers shop long after in 1986 when the works were being stripped out.  This gauge would show the steam pressure at any time. This item is well marked and stamped GWR, The shut off cock is in full working order and this item could easily be re-used on a portable steam engine or steam roller; The steam supply cock is threaded 3/3" BSP and the dial is just over  4" diameter on the bezzel. there rear flange makes about 5".

COPPER RAILWAY YARD GAS/OIL LAMP. STOCK CODE STA001

Possible GWR from a station or goods yard, this lamp is in great condition just requiring painting and mounting onto a suitable lamp post. The lamp can be converted to electric quite easily.

Here we have an Edmondson ticket dating machine.

This machine is complete but needs stamps which I beleive are available.

GWR SIGNAL LEVER DETONATOR BRASSES SET. STOCK CODE PR01195

This lovely oval brass detonator lever brasses are very collectable and would have been mounted on a small lever frame in the signal box.

Detonators are explosive audilde  emergengy signals.

They are a small metal sealed cannister about 2 inches in diameter and about 1/2" thick and filled with gun powderI.

Inside are percussion caps which when depressed cause ignition of the gun powder which causes a huge bang.

These detonatore are placed on the rail head by operation of the levers in emergency situatiions.

STANDARD CODES FOR TELEGRAMS. STOCK CODE PR 1192

British Transport commision  ,British Railways "standard codes for telegrams". When messages were sent between station ,signal boxes and yards for train running. These codes were for sending complicated accurate messages with the minium of letters. This little booklet is not easy to find and is in good condition.

This is a nice quality bronze and enameled watch fob awarded for athletic achievements by London Railways.This fob depicts a steam locomotive across the inner circle of laurel leaves.This fob is in its original presentation box and dates from circa 1912.

An  R.E.Thompson bacolite signal slot repeater, This instrument would indicate when the slot lever had worked the counter balance on a slotted stop/distant signal  worked by two signal boxes. Tested and working.

GWR IVORINE SHELF PLATE "KENNET BRIDGE" STOCK CODE PR 101

Ivoirne was a type of new plastice in the 1930 made from sheets of camphoe and Nitrocullose. This material was very popular by the railways for all instrument labels.

This example was from under the block bell.

GWR SIGNAL LEVER "WORKMAN DISCONNECTED" BADGE. STOCK CODE PR604

Avery important piece of equipment is this, an enamel faced signalmans reminder appliance  "WORKMAN DISCONNECTED" which the signalman would place on a lever when S and T department were working on a equipment affected by the work. It would be an agreement with the Signal engineer and the signalman what would be affected and this device would be placed over the lever handle and an entry made in the train register and signed by both parties. A must for any signalling collector. This example in excellent ex box condition with service wear.  The Enamel is near mint!!

GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY NON-PEGGING BLOCK. STOCK CODE VT 0352

He we have this very nice Great Central Railway non-pegging block indicator.

This one is rather unusual in that it still has parts in situ from when it was a pigging block.

The works have removed the handle and spindle and covered the hole left with a nice polished brass plate.

The instrument is in clean original un-restored condition and is in electricial working order.

A chance to own this splendid class 37 diesel locomotive nameplate "stockton haulage" from this popular class of locomotive. Built in 1962 as 3232/D757 by the Vulcan Foundry. Nice orignal condition Gabrielle Designs paddington Bear  wearing blue overcoat, red Dunlopo size 5 wellies and a sporting light blue hat.

Label is present on back of neck and dated 1972.

A nice original 1970s Gabrielle Designs made Paddington Bear.  

Everything on this bear is authentic right down to the Dunlop boots!

The overcoat has a few holes here and there but nothing to detract from this cuddly Bear.

7 1/4" GAUGE 6100 ROYAL SCOT LIVE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE, STOCK CODE CK 001

 THE OWNER OF THIS LOCOMOTIVE HAS ASKED US TO REDUCE THE PRICE .......A 7 1/4" gauge un-rebuilt Royal scot class locomotive number 6100 "ROYAL SCOT" built from Bassett Lowke castings. This model has been a regular preformer at the Great  Cockrow Railway at Chertsey. He she would run all day and as here driver says "she steams like a witch" 

The loco has a copper boiler and is accompanied with previous certificates and hydraulic tests documents and is in full running order.

She will be supplied with a new boiler certificate and will be ready to use.

GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY SINGLE NEEDLE TELEGRAPH INSTRUMENT. STOCK CODE VT9999

Recently cleaned and tested in our workshop is this beautiful early single needle telegraph instrument.

The instrumentation is of very high quality and in excellent condition.

A telephone code card is fitted on the left hand side and it shows many box names including Mapplethorpe.

The coils have been tested on 6 volts and the sounders are in good condition.

VINTAGE ROAD VEHICLE OIL REAR LAMP. STOCK CODE PR0029

This oil lamp is one of a pair we're selling. Apart from some age related rust its in fantastic condition and ready to use.

It has a Crown mark on it so presumably this company manufactured for H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth.

Look great in use on a steam roller of vintage lorry.

A nice clean Metropolitan POLICE whistle No 028342 Made in Birmingham.

This example has most of its plating intact and it is in full working order and it's LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A  standard British Railways Western Region signal box door key, exactly the same as a GWR key in size and configuration.

 A choice of 2 keys are avaible and both BR W.

Made from steel and plated, some of the plating has worn away.

SOUTHERN RAILWAY BRASS CASED SIGNAL REPEATER, STOCK CODE VT0158

These beautiful little brass cased repeaters were fixed to the signalbox instrument shelf and repeated the position of the signal arm out on the railway.

The signal had a contact box operated by the signal arm and electrically operated the repeater.

This item is in full working order.

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY SQUARE WOODEN POST FINIAL. STOCK CODE PR 058

A handsome early shallow based cast iron wooden post signal finial. this stately finial would have graced the classic GWR signal. Not only did it look good but it did have a purpose too. The finial would protect the end of the wood post and prevent rotting and many post still survive well over 100 years old!

This is a nice early hand engraved example of a Midland Rly signal lever backing plate.

The description is a nice interesting one and a large layout with 2nd down goods and down lines.

Always a popular instrument amongst GWR collectors, this classic banner repeater shows the words "Track Occupied" when banner horizontal and "Track Clear" when banner is at 45 degrees.

This instrument has been tested and works well.

A complete War Dept hand lamp from 1945 in excellent un-restored condition and complete with burner vessel and coloured glass lenses.

Issued to British Army and may have been used on Longmoor Military Railway, would be great if could be proved!

GREAT NORTH OF SCOTLAND RAILWAY HANGING SIGNAL BOX LAMP "ROTHES" STOCK CODE VT0322

A very nice signal box hanging oil lamp.

This lamp has a lovely brass plate with the name of the signal box it came from "ROTHES" on the Great North of Scotland Railway.

The lamp is complete although I'm not 100% certain the "China Mans Hat" is original but that how it came and it looks ok.

The burner is complete with wickes.

A nice GWR BR WR . R.E.Thompson double arm and slot repeater for a Distant signal.

The Tombstone wood pillar was typical GWR method of mounting repeaters in insufficient room on the block shelf.

Here we have the very popular HST which was introduced nearly 40 years ago. This set is a power car and dummy unit. good condition in working order.

BRITISH RAILWAYS MIDLAND REGION GROUND SIGNAL, STOCK CODE VT0349

This ex LMR cast iron ground disc is just waiting to live in your garden. It is complete with lamp and lenses intact. This example is also fitted with a detector to show its present in the signalbox. This is a heavy item but will easliy load into a hatchback or estate car, full assistance will be given.

GWR BRASS SIGNAL BOX PLUNGER. STOCK CODE PR 0046

A nice GWR brass plunger. These plungers were really electric switches which were mounted on the face of the block shelf usually above the lever it applied to.

The signalman would depress the button which in turn energized an electric lever lock, providing the interlocking was correct the lock would lift and allow the lever to be pulled.

This item is in good condition and has an Ivorine plate attached.
